This thrower is great! I was originally looking at a 2 stage one to deal with the end of driveway snow pile up, but I opted for this one instead. Since I have to take care of 3 houses, mine, my parents, and my in-laws (we all live in same town :o) ), I needed something that I can lift, fold the handles and put in the back of my SUV to drive to other houses. I also needed something powerful without it jamming up. So far it is able to handle up to 8 inches of snow. Not sure how high it can handle since that was the most we’ve had in my area this year. The only downside is if the snow gets densely packed at the end of the driveway, it won’t be able to handle it. I got around this issue by just breaking it up with a metal shovel first.Last but not least, even though I have the electric start, I don’t need it. It starts in one pull! This has replaced my electric snow joe, and I also purchased an extended warranty for it for peace of mind for the next 6 years. Happy user here.

Works great. Started on the first pull out of the box. Just had it delivered so I’ve only been able to use it on our recent 2 inch snowfall so far. Seems well built and powerful enough to handle a much more significant snowfall though. But so far so good.Update: We’ve now had a snowfall of 10+ inches and I’m still surprised at the power of the snow blower. It easily handled anything I could throw at it. But, I’m wondering if anyone else has had trouble with snow getting caked on the wheels and then the wheels not being able to roll. You either have to stop and keep kicking the snow off the wheels, or put some real effort into moving the snow blower. If anyone else has had this problem and you’ve found a solution, (other than buying a different snowblower) please share it.

The machine works well after I found a rubber band around the drive belt which kept the auger from functioning. After removing the cover and removing the rubber band I found replacing the cover was a pain in the butt. Getting the cover bolt aligned is most difficult due to the depth of the hole in the cover. Not a good design and will always be a pain to due to screw location. Very disappointed in Troy-Bilt on a normally excellent product line.
